Todd A. Brenner
Attorney Todd Brenner has attained the rating of “AV-Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell and Lawyers.com, the highest rating awarded for attorneys. He has been named an “Ohio Top Lawyer” for 8 consecutive years and “Top Rated Midwest Lawyer” by the National Law Journal in 2013 and 2017. He also has earned a 5 star rating, the highest possible, on lawyers.com, and in 2015 was the recipient of the Client Distinction Award, which is given to less than 1% of eligible attorneys. He has successfully handled personal injury and insurance cases across Ohio and many other states.
Todd has provided professional, experienced and vigilant representation in personal injury cases, including those involving automobile accidents, wrongful death, trucking accidents, dog bites and premises liability. In 2019, Todd was recognized as one of the Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys in Ohio, an accomplishment achieved by less than 1% of active attorneys. He also has substantial experience in insurance law, and has handled more than 500 cases involving life insurance and disability claims.
Many of the insurance cases Todd has handled have been governed by ERISA, the federal law that provides the framework for how insurance claims brought under employee benefit plans are decided. For over 25 years, Todd has successfully litigated hundreds of ERISA and non-ERISA disability cases in Ohio and 17 other jurisdictions.
Todd’s clients have benefited from his aggressive and skillful representation. He is results-driven and he has delivered consistently excellent outcomes for his clients. Every case is handled with the personal attention his clients deserve, and Todd strives to accommodate the goals of each particular client. He has represented dozens of Fortune 500 companies in his career and currently serves as outside counsel for the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association.
Todd has served as faculty member for several seminars in the areas of ERISA and insurance law. He was selected to author and present a program entitled Insurance Coverage in Ohio. He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts of Ohio, all federal courts in Michigan, all federal courts in Indiana, all state courts of North Carolina, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, all federal courts in Wisconsin, the Northern District of Texas and the District of Colorado. He is a member of the Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and Mensa.
Away from the office, Todd enjoys spending time with his family, including his two children. He is heavily involved in sports, and plays as much basketball and golf as his schedule allows.
